LlamaIndex, founded in 2023 by Jerry Liu, started as GPT Index and evolved into a comprehensive data framework for connecting LLMs to private data sources. It provides data loaders, indexes, query engines, and agent abstractions in Python and TypeScript. LlamaCloud offers managed parsing and indexing. The company raised a Series A from Norwest and is used by KPMG, Carlyle, Cemex, and many others for enterprise RAG.
