GearDex

GearDex is a camera gear inventory app for photographers, videographers, and studios who want one reliable record of what they own, what it is worth, and where it is. Each item gets a full record: brand, model, serial number, mount, photos, purchase date and price, current value, condition, storage location, notes, and the receipts and warranty files that go with it. Dedicated sections cover cameras, lenses, accessories, filters, and drones (with FAA registration and Remote ID fields), and Record Readiness shows which items are still missing a photo, serial number, or receipt. You can add gear by typing a plain sentence or snapping a photo with Smart Add, or import a spreadsheet with per-type CSV templates that check every row before saving. Every plan exports a full backup as ZIP, JSON, or CSV. Beyond inventory, GearDex plans shoots with locations, call sheets, crew contacts, moodboards, checklists, weather, and sun, moon, and tide times, and builds packing manifests from the gear you own. Iris, the built-in AI assistant, answers questions about your kit, checks lens mount compatibility, and drafts shot lists, but never edits records without your approval. Pro adds warranty alerts, value reports, a one-click insurance PDF, a rig builder, and QR labels. Studio adds loans, maintenance scheduling, an availability board, and team workspaces. Starter is free for up to 25 items; Pro is $39/year and Studio $179/year. GearDex runs in any modern browser and as a native Mac app (Desktop 1.2.0, macOS 13+, Apple Silicon and Intel).
