How to Use This Calculator

1

Enter how many people do automatable work, the hours each spends on it per week, and their fully-loaded hourly cost.

2

Set the share of those hours AI can realistically take on, and what you pay for the AI per month.

3

The calculator returns hours saved, labor cost offset, net monthly gain after tooling, and your annual ROI.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do you calculate ROI on AI?

AI ROI compares the value AI creates against what it costs. Here: monthly hours saved × fully-loaded hourly cost gives the labor value, minus the AI tooling cost gives net gain, and net gain ÷ tooling cost × 100 gives the ROI percentage. Annualize by multiplying the monthly net by twelve.

What is a good ROI for AI tools?

Because AI offsets labor that is far more expensive than the software, healthy deployments often return several hundred percent — a $500/mo tool that saves 40 hours of $40/hr work returns roughly 220%. Anything where net monthly gain is comfortably positive is worth keeping; negative means the tool is over-priced for the workload.

How much of our work can AI actually handle?

For repetitive, rules-based, text-heavy work — drafting, triage, data entry, first-pass support — teams commonly automate 30–60% of the hours. Judgment-heavy or relationship work is lower. Start conservative (around 40%) and raise it as you see what your AI reliably handles.

Should I use salary or fully-loaded cost per hour?

Use fully-loaded cost — salary plus benefits, taxes, software, and overhead, typically 1.25–1.4× base pay. It reflects what an hour of that person actually costs the business, so the savings figure is honest rather than flattering.

Does the calculator include the cost of the AI?

Yes. The "net gain" and ROI figures subtract your monthly AI tooling cost, so you see the real return, not just the gross labor saved. If the tool costs more than the labor it offsets, the calculator flags it.

How is AMW Suite different from buying separate AI tools?

AMW Suite builds the AI agents into the software that runs your business — CRM, proposals, client delivery — with the AI usage included rather than billed per seat across five vendors. You capture the savings above without stitching tools together or managing multiple subscriptions.

Why Use This Calculator

  • Quantify AI savings in hours, dollars, and net ROI — not vague "productivity"
  • Account for the tooling cost so the number is net, not gross
  • See the annual impact before you commit to a rollout
  • Pressure-test vendor pricing against the workload it actually offsets
